Kev keen to end Pittodrie hoodoo

Rangers have not triumphed in the Granite City since Thomson moved from Hibernian in January 2007, and indeed have won just once in eight visits.[LNB]Thomson has lost twice and drawn twice in light blue at Pittodrie and the midfielder is keen to savour victory at last.[LNB]"I don't think I have been up there with the club and picked up three points," Thomson told Rangers World. "So that's certainly something I want to change."[LNB]Thomson described his personal record at Pittodrie as "rubbish" having also lost there three times with Hibernian.[LNB]The midfielder's only victory came in October 2005 but it slipped his mind, perhaps because he had gone off with a neck injury before Derek Riordan scored the only goal.[LNB]"I don't think I've ever won up there," he said. "Hibs don't have the best record up there, I played four or five games up there and I don't think I've ever picked a victory.[LNB]"As long as the manager doesn't read those stats and drop me, then I'll be trying my hardest to get three points this time."[LNB]Despite failing to taste success at Pittodrie with Rangers, Thomson still relishes the encounters against the Dons.[LNB]"The rivalry between the two teams and both sets of supporters is quite fierce," the 25-year-old said.[LNB]"They are always good games to be involved in, always high-tempo, a wee bit like a derby to be honest.[LNB]"We will be under no illusions but we certainly feel we have enough quality to go up there and get three points."[LNB]Aberdeen secured a surprise goalless draw at Ibrox in September and have lost just three SPL games under Mark McGhee.[LNB]And Thomson admits their youthful verve will force Rangers to be at their best in Saturday's lunchtime fixture.[LNB]"They lost a lot of players in the summer, quite a few of their experienced players," the Scotland cap said.[LNB]"The team that came to Ibrox was quite a young Aberdeen team, which is quite unusual to see such a young team at Aberdeen. They usually have a lot of experienced pros.[LNB]"But a lot of the young kids are good players. You know what you get with young players, you get a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of hard work. So that's something we need to match.[LNB]"The draw at Ibrox was a disappointing result for all the players and fans so we'll be looking to get three points."[LNB][LNB] Rangers 4/5, Draw 13/5, Aberdeen 10/3
