Kenny Miller is most effective striker in Europe: Levein drops him at his peril.

Conflicting stories and rumours abound. Kenny Miller is, officially, the most effective striker in European football. According to IMScouting's data report - see graph. http://www.tinyurls.co.uk/C15377   All joking about stats aside, the Rangers striker's brilliant start to the season cannot be denied. Which makes the reports appearing in newspapers and other media outlets so odd. Has the Scotland manager really suggested Miller will be 'dropped' for Friday's key game against the Czech Republic, and replaced by James Mackie? Someone who, if selected, will likely be captain to commemorate his 50th cap for Scotland passed over in favour of, erm, an English-born debutant? International week can be a slow news week and often stories are printed which are closer to fantasy than reality, but Scotland manager Levein had a change to address the rumours today and did little to clarify the situation. Some Rangers fans may be glad if Miller is spared the prospect of injury - Jelavic's absence will put a lot of pressure on the strikers at the club - but if he is fit to play, and is not selected, then Craig Levein may be setting himself up for a spectacular fall.
