JM backs Baggies move for Barry
Albion are reportedly interested in signing the Rangers midfielder as they look to rebuild a squad capable of making a quickfire return to the Premier League following their relegation to the Championship.
Ferguson is widely expected to leave Ibrox in the summer following the 'Boozegate' scandal with team-mate Allan McGregor while on international duty.
The duo received lifetime bans from international football for giving two-fingered gestures after being left out of the World Cup qualifier with Iceland, while Ferguson was stripped of the Gers' captaincy.
Scotland international Morrison is a big admirer of Ferguson and believes signing the midfielder would be a real coup for West Brom.
"Barry is obviously a top player and has been for years. With his experience, he would be, if he signed, a great asset," said Morrison. "That is what we have been lacking, a real leader. I think experience is the key for us.
"I think the fans would certainly be excited if he was to sign, given the events of the past week."
