Jelavic gets Whittaker backing

Steven Whittaker has predicted plenty more goals from Nikica Jelavic this season after the Rangers striker rediscovered his goal-scoring form against Hibernian. Jelavic was handed his first start in almost four months at Easter Road, following ankle surgery, and marked the occasion by adding his name to the scoresheet after Madjid Bougherra set the ball rolling on the 2-0 win. The Croatian forward had netted four goals before suffering ankle ligament damage in a game against Hearts in October and Whittaker was delighted to see him pick up where he left off in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash. "It will be wonderful for his confidence," said the full-back. "It was great to see him get on the scoresheet and I'm sure there will be more to come in the next few weeks as well. Whoever plays up front for us is going to score goals. "We are a team who creates chances and, if the chances come his way, he will get a number of goals from now until the end of the season."
