Nikica Jelavic could make his long-awaited return from injury for Rangers on Saturday.

The striker has been out of action since the start of October and required surgery on a serious ankle injury. Boss Walter Smith confirmed he should be in the squad for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Hamilton.

He said: "Jelavic will be involved. I certainly don't see him being involved from the start but there's a possibility he'll have an opportunity as a sub."

Smith added: "He's had a hard week's training and we'll see how he feels tomorrow before we make a decision but he's now just about ready to come back."

Meanwhile, Kenny Miller is also set to be involved on Saturday despite the continuing uncertainty over his Rangers future.

The striker, who is out of contract this summer, has been holding talks with both Birmingham and Fiorentina.

He was left out of the squad for Monday's Scottish Cup win against Kilmarnock but could make his return at Ibrox against Hamilton.

Smith said: "There has been no change as far as we are concerned, his situation is still in the hands of Kenny and his advisors. He will be available for us tomorrow (Saturday). He hasn't signed for anybody yet so he is still a Rangers player.

"I felt the other night that there was an awful lot surrounding him but that has settled down a little bit so he will be involved in the game tomorrow."
