Injured Boyd won't be rushed

Rangers striker Kris Boyd will not be risked until he has completely recovered from his eye injury.

Scans have revealed a small break in his eye socket, a consequence of a clash of heads with Celtic's Landry N'Guemo during Sunday's Old Firm game at Ibrox.

Assistant boss Ally McCoist said: "He's in a bit of discomfort and a bit of pain. He blew his nose or sneezed and the eye blew up and he got a bit of a fright.

"The scans aren't showing any fracture so that's a plus. Having said that, it's a really sore one in a dangerous area and time will determine how he feels.

"It's still early days in the healing process but we're hopeful he won't be out for too long."
