Injured Webster out of Scotland squad

Rangers defender Andy Webster has pulled out of the Scotland squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Lithuania and Liechtenstein after failing to recover from a hamstring injury. Webster enjoyed a successful loan spell at Dundee United last season but his Rangers career continues to be dogged by bad luck.

After completing pre-season, Webster has not featured in either of the club`s opening Clydesdale Bank Premier League games and will miss the visit of St Johnstone.

Manager Walter Smith said: "I thought he was going to be fit last weekend but on the morning of the game he felt his hamstring again. I think it`s a sciatic problem. He is not fit for this weekend and he has obviously had to pull out of the internationals. "Hopefully that will settle down for obvious reasons of needing everyone available."
