I'll stay in control - Bougherra

The defender hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons at the weekend when he was sent-off in the latter stages of the goalless draw with Motherwell in the SPL. The French-Algerian conceded a penalty with five minutes remaining at Fir Park before picking up two quickfire yellow cards for dissent for his complaints about the decision. However, Bougherra headed straight for referee Dougie McDonald's room after the game to apologise for his actions once had had cooled down. And he has assured Gers fans who have made the trip to Germany for their Group G opener there is no chance of a repeat of such behaviour at the Mercedes Benz Arena. "I have to learn to keep control," he admitted. "Anything can happen in a game like a wrong decision and you need to be focused and be professional. "I was so excited because I wanted to win but now I know that I have to be calm and continue to play because we might get the next decision in the game." Rangers' unbeaten record remained intact thanks to goalkeeper Allan McGregor, who guessed correctly to pull off a superb save to deny Jim O'Brien from the penalty spot and salvage a point from the match. Bougherra added: "I need to thank Allan very much because he saved the penalty and saved a point." Meanwhile, striker Kenny Miller hopes Aleksandr Hleb, who rejoined Stuttgart on loan from Barcelona this summer, does not recover from a hamstring injury in time for the meeting with the Scottish champions. "It would be a great boost," he said. "He is a fantastic player, we know all about him having played against him in the international team, and seen what he is like at Arsenal. "He is a fantastic footballer. If he is missing it would be a boost for us but I am sure they will bring another quality player in." Stuttgart have endured a poor start to their Bundesliga campaign, picking up just five points from as many matches and suffering a 3-1 defeat to Hamburg at the weekend. But Miller added: "If we are being honest we are not playing up to our full potential either this season so it is a big game for both teams. "We want to use this as a kick-start and hopefully get some form going in the league as well. "Obviously it is a big game for them, but also it is a huge game for us as well."
