Hutton pens Gers contract

Rangers defender Alan Hutton has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old Scotland international was handed a regular starting berth at right-back when manager Walter Smith took over midway through last season and has been rewarded with a new long-term deal.

Hutton made his international debut in a friendly against Austria in May.

"I'm delighted to have signed this new contract and I'm just looking forward to the new season now," he told the club's official website.

"We've been in talks with the club for a wee while now so I'm glad it's done and out of the way and I can now concentrate on the football side of things."
