Hutton: McGregor could be our hero

Kyle Hutton believes Rangers will have goalkeeper Allan McGregor to thank if they go on to secure the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title. McGregor kept Rangers' hopes of retaining the championship alive when he produced a late penalty save to deny Celtic victory in the final Old Firm derby of the season last month. Celtic then went on to suffer a shock defeat to Inverness midweek which means the Scottish champions head into this weekend's action a point clear at the summit with the same number of games now played. And youngster Hutton says that spot-kick block could ultimately prove to be a pivotal moment in the race for the silverware. The 20-year-old said: "He has been brilliant for us all season and that save just proves what a brilliant goalkeeper he is. Maybe, if we go on and we do win the league, that will be a big moment for us, a big turning point. "If they had scored that penalty, the job would have been a lot more difficult for us. He saved it and it put us in this great position. If we go on and win our next three games then we have to say a big thanks to McGregor."
