Kyle Hutton has become the latest youngster to commit to Rangers after signing a new deal with the club.

The 20-year-old midfielder has penned a two-year contract extension, which keeps him at Ibrox until at least 2014.

The move comes after fellow midfielder Jamie Ness signed a new contract with the Scottish champions until 2015.

Hutton, who has progressed through the ranks to Walter Smith's first team, told Blues News: "Signing a new deal is a massive thing for me and I'm absolutely delighted.

"This season I have been happy with the way things have gone and I have been given the chance to play in really big games.

"My goal after that was to keep going and try to get an extension so that I can stay at the club. I have that now and I am over the moon."

Hutton started Champions League games against Manchester United and Bursaspor earlier in the campaign and said this season has been pivotal to his career so far.

He added: "It has been pretty special but as soon as you get a taste of playing for the first team you want more.

"So far I have managed to play in the Champions League and not many get the chance to gain that experience. I am grateful for that but every time you pull on a blue jersey it's a proud moment and you have to go out and do your best.

"It can be difficult at times because you don't always have a lot of match fitness but you have to be ready and try to take your chance."
