Gobi United

In early September around 20 Scots will be heading to Mongolia as part of a charity fundraiser. In terms of players so far we have to date 6 Rangers, 5 Celtic, 1 Motherwell and 5 others. We have organised a charity trip for two different charities both who have links with Scottish football legends both sadly deceased - the Davie Cooper Centre and the Jimmy Johnston Charity. It was all wee Willie Henderson's original idea, great gentleman he is, so I have invited a number of Rangers, Celtic and Motherwell supporters to join me on a trip of a life time to trek the great Gobi Desert (100 miles) but before that we will play in the Mongolian national stadium (a first for any team from the UK) against a Mongolian PREMIER SIDE, Mazaalai F.C , so the name of our news team is GOBI UNITED FC as we are all united in the same cause to raise funds for both charities. The money raised will go to the Davie Cooper Centre and Motor Neuron Scotland, after our WIN we will head out to the great Gobi desert to trek 100 miles, staying with local tribes people on the way. In short this is a one of adventure which the people involved in will NEVER forget. In April I am meeting the Mongolian ambassador in Glasgow to discuss the trip i.e. selling Scotland and its people to the Mongolians. A Mongolian TV station and sports network station are going to film us on our arrival as in there words a great "peoples" story, as this trip will embrace both cultures. We hope to depart after leaving Hampden Park from the international game on the 3rd of September. We will of course be also wearing the KILT! What I am look for is took make people aware of what we are doing why we are doing it. Would they like to join us or sponsor us in any way?Give me a call - Jock McInnes 01738 551020.http://jockmcinnes.wordpress.com
