    Gers wait on McGregor

    06 Feb 2007 - 12:17:09

Rangers are hopeful that goalkeeper Allan McGregor will be fit to face Kilmarnock on Sunday.

McGregor pulled out of the Scotland B squad to face Finland in a midweek friendly after suffering a groin injury.

However, the Rangers medical staff expect the 24-year-old to prove his fitness and retain his place in the side for the weekend trip to Rugby Park.

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Walter Smith has back striker Filip Sebo to prove his doubters wrong and become a hit in Scottish football.

Sebo has scored just two goals since his £1.8million move from Austria Vienna in August, but Smith believes the Slovakia international is on the verge of making more of an impact.

"It's been a tough start to his career in Scotland," he told the club's official website.

"Hopefully over the next couple of months he will soon settle down.

"I think he is short on confidence and that's one of the major problems he has."
