Gers switch delights Thomson
31 Jan 2007 - 10:08:39
Midfielder Kevin Thomson is looking forward to beginning a new chapter in his career after completing his transfer from Hibernian to Rangers.
The 22-year-old, who has penned a deal that will keep him at Ibrox until June 2011, is boss Walter Smith's fourth signing of the month following the arrivals of Andy Webster, David Weir and Ugo Ehiogu.
"There's been a lot of speculation surrounding my future in recent weeks but I'm just delighted to be here," Thomson told the Gers' official website.
"I decided to come for a medical and Rangers were keen to push things on and there was only one place I wanted to be after that.
"As soon as it came to the table that I had the option of playing here then I didn't need any other options.
"It's a massive club. As a boy you always dream of playing for a big club like Rangers as it's the pinnacle of Scottish football. I spent six years at Hibs as a professional but this is the next step for me."
