Gers snap up striker Beattie
13 Aug 2010 - 15:45:06
Stoke City striker James Beattie has joined Rangers on a two-year contract, with the option for a third year.
The 32-year-old moves to Ibrox for an undisclosed transfer fee and is expected to make his debut for Walter Smith's side in Saturday's first SPL game of the season against Kilmarnock.
The former Blackburn Rovers, Southampton, Everton and Sheffield United forward scored ten goals in 40 appearances for the Potters but did not start a Premier League match for the club in 2010.
He was axed from the first team in the second half of the season after reportedly becoming involved in a heated pre-Christmas bust-up with Pulis after a game against Arsenal.
Beattie had been linked with a host of clubs this summer including Wolves, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United before eventually opting to move to Glasgow.
