Gers set to land Faubert

Rangers are leading the race to sign Bordeaux's France international Julien Faubert in a £4.4million move.

The 23-year-old is believed to be on the verge of signing a contract that will keep him at Ibrox until 2011.

The former Cannes defender made his France debut in last year's game against Bosnia and is keen to leave Bordeaux to further his international career.

Faubert has also been linked with Lazio, AS Roma, AC Milan and Fiorentina.
