Gers seek more time

Rangers have asked the SPL for permission to postpone their game at Gretna so that they have more time to prepare for the vital Champions League clash with Lyon.
The Gers need to avoid defeat against the French side to progress to the last 16 of the competition.
Last month's game against St Mirren was postponed, as was Celtic's encounter with Falkirk, so that Scotland's Old Firm players would not pick up injuries before the Euro 2008 qualifier with Italy.
A Rangers spokesman told the club's official website: "Following media enquiries, Rangers can confirm that we have approached the SPL and Gretna Football Club this week to seek the postponement of our fixture at Fir Park on Sunday December 9 in lieu of our Champions League match with Lyon."
