Gers keeper urged to leave
13 Apr 2007 - 11:46:49
Rangers keeper Allan McGregor has urged Lee Robinson to follow his example and seek a loan move to boost his first-team chances at Ibrox.
McGregor has spent time on loan at Dunfermline and St Johnstone prior to becoming the Gers' number one this season under manager Walter Smith.
Robinson, 19, has yet to start a first-team game for the SPL club and McGregor believes a loan spell would boost his chances.
"I would recommend that Lee goes out on loan," he told the club's official website.
"He has only played about ten minutes in the first team so he needs the experience.
"It definitely helped me. I had two spells on loan and there is no doubt it improved me as a keeper.
"Lee has been on the bench a few times and he has done well for the reserves. I think the gaffer likes him so I think the future is bright for him.
"He has not long signed a new contract so clearly the club have faith in him."
