Gers fear Thomson worst

Rangers expect to be without Kevin Thomson for the rest of the season after the midfielder picked up a knee injury in Sunday's 4-0 win at Kilmarnock.

The Scotland international was stretchered off the pitch in the second half of the SPL encounter at Rugby Park after appearing to twist his knee during a challenge with Killie striker David Fernandez.

An initial report on the Gers' official website claimed: "It looks as though the midfielder's season is over.

"Club doctor Paul Jackson accompanied the stricken player to hospital this morning (Monday) where tests were carried out.

"The results will be available later today but Rangers are gearing themselves for bad news."
