Gers exit for Stanger

Rangers have released William Stanger by mutual consent after the young striker failed to impress new Ibrox boss Walter Smith. Stanger, 21, has made just one substitute appearance since joining from Rennes last summer and has become the latest signing made by former boss Paul Le Guen to leave the Glasgow club. Jeremy Clement and Lionel Letizi have already left Ibrox since Smith took the helm last month. "I think it was better for me to leave as I am not playing just now and I am not in the the manager's plans," Stanger told the club's official website.
