Gers boss pleased with Miller form

The forward has been hampered by niggling injuries recently but finally appears to have put those problems behind him.[LNB]He looked lively as a substitute against Celtic last week - and could have clinched the winner - before grabbing a double against Forfar in the Homecoming Scottish Cup.[LNB]Miller could now line up with Kris Boyd against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday and Smith said: "I'm pleased for him because he has had an awkward spell recently.[LNB]"He had a bit of an injury and was put on a course of exercises and I think we are seeing the benefit of that now.[LNB]"When he came on in the Celtic game, and the other night against Forfar, it was as bright as he has been for a while.[LNB]"He is coming back to something like full fitness."[LNB]Rangers have been undefeated since losing to Celtic at Ibrox in December and Smith believes confidence is increasing all the time.[LNB]"I think the team are reasonably confident just now," he said.[LNB]"We've been on a decent run over the last few games. We have been playing quite confidently so I hope we can continue that but we get a test as each game comes along."[LNB]A win over Killie would propel Rangers to the summit of the SPL before leaders Celtic face Motherwell 24 hours later.[LNB]"It's always nice when that happens," said Smith.[LNB]"But I don't think there is a great deal of importance in that aspect. What is important, is that we win. That's the most important thing.[LNB]"Whether we go top of the league for a few hours or not, doesn't really come into it. It's just the fact that we have to win the games."[LNB]Despite heading into the game with confidence, Smith insists a win over Kilmarnock is far from guaranteed.[LNB]He said: "If you look at the game we had against Kilmarnock in the early part of the season, we were made to work very hard to overcome them.[LNB]"I see this being the same type of game.[LNB]"The home games are proving to be difficult for us, teams are coming and setting their stall out to defend well and, credit to most of the teams in Scotland, they have been doing that very well.[LNB]"It's only been occasionally when we have managed to get a couple of goals early on that the game has opened up.[LNB]"Kilmarnock are a team who have had a little bit of inconsistency in their results but they are always capable of getting a result against any of the teams and certainly they have made it very awkward for us in the games we have played.[LNB]"We are on a reasonable run and we have been playing quite confidently.[LNB]"But we will have to match anything that's gone before if we are to win tomorrow."[LNB][LNB] Rangers v Kilmarnock.
