Gers are ready for Bhoys - McCoist

While Rangers were unable to bolster their squad at all in January, Hoops boss Tony Mowbray brought eight new players to Parkhead, including on-loan Tottenham striker Keane.[LNB]But, despite being reportedly the highest-paid player in Scottish football history, McCoist sees no reason to fear Celtic's high-profile capture.[LNB]And he insists Rangers will have done their homework on all of this weekend's derby debutants ahead of Sunday's showdown.[LNB]"Keane is a fantastic signing, let's be honest," said the Ibrox assistant manager.[LNB]"He's a wonderful player who is very, very gifted. I've enjoyed watching him over the years and Tony has wanted to bring in his own players. Now he has done that.[LNB]"Time will tell if they can knit with each other and gel sooner rather than later but that's not really our concern.[LNB]"Of course, we'll have a good look at them and there are one or two players there who our lads haven't played against before.[LNB]"By the time they face them, they'll have been well briefed on what to expect and we'll be totally clued up on them.[LNB]"In one sense, I suppose it's quite exciting to have new players to be preparing to come up against.[LNB]"You have to say Rasmussen looks like he can score a goal while we've noted what the lad Josh Thompson has done at the back.[LNB]"To be quite frank, they've signed players all over the park so we won't be leaving any stone unturned."[LNB]Victory for Rangers would allow them to restore their 10-point advantage at the summit of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, with a game in hand still to be played at St Johnstone.[LNB]McCoist knows such a scenario would not necessarily mean the title race is over but he does concede a comeback from their bitter rivals would be unlikely.[LNB]He told Rangers News: "With the way the league campaign has gone so far and how things are looking just now, people are saying Celtic have to win this game.[LNB]"At the same time, you have to look at the situation from our point of view and if we can win this game, it would put a serious dent in their championship hopes.[LNB]"We certainly wouldn't win anything at this stage but you'd have to say it would put a real dampener on things for them.[LNB]"That's the way we have to look at it. We just have to go into the game with a really positive attitude and a belief we can take three points.[LNB]"If we can do that, hopefully it can take us a step nearer to winning the championship.[LNB]"Nothing would be would be finished if we got a victory, absolutely nothing, but let's not kid ourselves on - it would be a massive three points."[LNB][LNB] Rangers v Celtic.
