Gers and Miller well up for the cup

Miller was part of the team beaten by Celtic to the first major trophy of the Scottish season 12 months ago, his only appearance in the League Cup since his return to Ibrox.[LNB]Like last term, the striker looks set to be given the nod for this weekend's final, this time against St Mirren.[LNB]And Miller is more motivated by securing the first leg of a domestic treble than by memories of an Old Firm Hampden defeat.[LNB]"It's not a case of having to remind yourself of that," the Scotland international said.[LNB]"We don't like losing any game, whether it be a cup final or a league match.[LNB]"But, obviously, with this bit of silverware at stake, it does add that little bit to it.[LNB]"We want to get this first trophy under our belts this season.[LNB]"Barring extra-time last year, it could've been a wee treble we had."[LNB]Despite this being Miller's third successive domestic cup final since he returned to Rangers in the summer of 2008, he insists the prospect is no less exciting.[LNB]"I've not had many cup finals in my career and it means a lot to go there and walk up the stairs at the end and pick a trophy up," said Miller, who played in Sunday's 3-3 Scottish Cup quarter-final draw with Dundee United.[LNB]"It's going to be a cagey game, it's going to be very tight.[LNB]"The last couple of games before Dundee United were like that.[LNB]"It wasn't pretty stuff to watch but we dug deep and we got the win. It's probably going to be similar again on Sunday.[LNB]"That's how St Mirren set their stall out - they do make it hard for you."[LNB]Rangers have played Saints five times already this season, winning four and drawing one.[LNB]Defeat would be a huge shock, especially as Walter Smith's men have lost only one domestic match in the last year.[LNB]Miller said: "We got a lot of stick at the start of the season because of our performance in Europe.[LNB]"It was probably deserved because we never hit the heights that we hoped we could hit.[LNB]"Domestically, we've been beaten once all season and I think that's an incredible achievement for any team, at any level."[LNB][LNB] Scottish Premier League.
