Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor saved a Jim O'Brien penalty late on after Madjid Bougherra brought down Lukas Jutkiewicz in the box. The Light Blues defender's protests earned him a red card, but McGregor's heroics meant the Glasgow giants escaped from Fir Park with a point. It was a result which gave great encouragement to Gannon, who told Sky Sports: "It's about recognising when you can be expansive and when you have to be more considered and I thought we did that well today. "This result is a great credit to the players, they have been working really hard and you can see the work on the training ground is paying off." Gannon was asked about the penalty award but said: "I would rather not comment on it, I would rather reflect on the fact that it was a great game of football. "We had a bit of momentum, we had a great phase, they had a great phase, all in all it was a great game."
