Rangers supporters are unable to enjoy the fruits of last season's success because they are fearful of what the future may hold.[LNB] The Ibrox men captured the Co-operative Insurance Cup by beating St Mirren in the final before winning their second successive SPL title.[LNB]However, the uncertainty over the club's future remains with London-based property developer Andrew Ellis claiming he will step aside from his possible £33million buyout if a rival bidder was better placed to take them forward.[LNB]There are also doubts over the future of manager Walter Smith, who, along with his backroom staff, have been working without a contract since January.[LNB]Fans' favourite Nacho Novo will move back to Spain to play for Sporting Gijon while out-of-contract striker Kris Boyd has been linked with a move to Turkish side Kayserispor, all of which is adding to the anxiety being felt by the Light Blues support.[LNB]"After winning the league for the second time in a row, you should be looking forward to next season," said general secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association John MacMillan.[LNB]"But fans are asking, 'where are we going to be next season?'[LNB]"It's very messy. It's been going on too long and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.[LNB]"It is disturbing at a time when the fans are being asked to renew their season tickets.[LNB]"I would imagine they will be down in numbers until we find out what's going on.[LNB]"Is Kris Boyd the next player to go? Will Madjid Bougherra also be away?[LNB]"We can ill-afford to lose any more players.[LNB]"The squad was under pressure last season but the players adapted well under the circumstances and they deserve great credit."[LNB]Andy Kerr, president of the Rangers Supporters Assembly, told Press Association Sport that he is hoping that Smith will pledge his future to the club as soon as possible.[LNB]"Personally, I think Walter Smith is pivotal to what will happen," Kerr said.[LNB]"The biggest concern is if Smith steps down.[LNB]"That would be a huge blow and one which would be hard to recover from.[LNB]"It could have a domino effect at the club. If there was an announcement next week that Walter was staying at the club then that would be a huge boost."
