Foster dreaming of Scotland place

Richard Foster hopes his shock loan move to Rangers can pave the way for him to make his long-awaited breakthrough into the Scotland team. He made the season-long switch to Ibrox just hours before the transfer deadline, while striker Andrius Velicka headed in the opposite direction to Aberdeen. The 25-year-old was unveiled at a media conference on Wednesday as the national team were preparing to jet out to Kaunas for their opening Euro 2012 qualifier against Lithuania on Friday night. Foster represented his country at under-21 level but has so far failed to feature for the senior side and has now set his sights on catching the eye of Craig Levein during his year with the Scottish champions. "That is in the back of my mind," he said. "I realise, if I get into the team and I cement a place and I'm playing every week for Rangers, then I feel that the national manager will maybe come and have a look. "It's not one of my goals to start with. I need to break into the team to begin with but, if I do that, I can maybe think of other things."
