Fleck hoping for Gers bench role

But John Fleck will be hoping the knock-on effect will be a substitute's role for himself in what would be only his second appearance against Celtic.[LNB]Fleck, 18, has once again found himself warming the bench this season as his footballing education at Ibrox continues.[LNB]And despite not getting on the field at all as Rangers ran riot in their last three SPL matches, the teenager is not about to kick up a fuss.[LNB]"I've been involved again this season and that's all I can really ask for," he told Rangers News. "Even if it's from the bench for now, that's okay with me.[LNB]"Of course I want to play but if I need to work up to it from the bench, that's great, I just want to get as many minutes as I can.[LNB]"I'm going to have ups and downs because I'm still just a young boy so I'm not at my best just yet.[LNB]"People need to realise that it's going to take time and that it takes a few games on the run to try to get that to come."[LNB]Rangers are hitting form at the right time and victory at Parkhead on Sunday would put them 10 points clear of Celtic.[LNB]Fleck said: "I felt we got off to a slow start as a team but I think the last month or so we have started to come on to our game.[LNB]"The team has been doing well in games and I think that's the team spirit that has helped to pull us through.[LNB]"We've had a couple of changes in the team, too, and it's just clicked and started to work out well for us.[LNB]"This is a great time to be hitting the right sort of form and Parkhead is such a big game for us.[LNB]"Hopefully, we can go and win there and that would give us a great chance of moving further ahead, and who knows where we could go from there?"[LNB]Fleck may appear an unlikely starter this weekend but the same was said before he made his Old Firm derby debut in last season's goalless draw at Celtic Park.[LNB]"It was great for me personally to get a start at Parkhead and, although we didn't get the result we would have liked, it was a good experience as a young player," he said.[LNB]"Hopefully, this time we can get the result we want because, in the end, that is the most important part of any game.[LNB]"Obviously, any game against Celtic is massive for us and you want to win them all, but this is important because of the position we are in and the fact we can go further ahead of them."[LNB][LNB]
