Ferguson steps up comeback

Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has come through his first 90 minutes of football for more than five months unscathed.

The 30-year-old former Blackburn Rovers midfielder played in the reserve team clash against Dundee United's second string and is expected to return to the first team for Saturday's league game against Inverness.

Ferguson almost scored a late goal in the 1-1 draw as he stepped up his recovery following ankle surgery in the summer.

Rangers were forced to play almost the entire game with ten men following Christian Dailly's dismissal after just 45 seconds.
