Rangers manager Paul Le Guen has warned fit again captain Barry Ferguson that he cannot expect to walk straight back into the first team.
The combative midfielder has not played an SPL match since April because of ankle and heel injuries, but proved his fitness in the reserve team's 3-0 midweek victory against Hearts.
Ferguson now hopes to feature against Falkirk at Ibrox on Saturday, but Le Guen insisted: "I'm not obliged to include him in the squad.
"I know that he is an important player for Rangers but I work for the whole squad.
"The comeback of Barry is important but Brahim Hemdani, for example, has done very well from the beginning of the season.
"Barry is back, great, but I want to speak about all the players."
Chris Burke is also in contention after recovering from an ankle injury, while goalkeeper Lionel Letizi hopes to return after a calf strain.
