Estonia right-back Enar Jaager expressed his hope on Monday of landing a deal with Scottish giants Rangers.
The 27-year-old is a free agent after spending last season with Norwegian side Aalesunds, and the 84-times capped player is currently on a week-long trial in Scotland.
"I am excited about being here. I just hope everything goes well and meets my expectations," Jaager told the Daily Record.
"Everyone knows about the size of Rangers and it was an easy decision to come here when I heard the club might be interested.
"If I could earn a contract it would be a big thing for me. I have played many times for my country and had big moments but in terms of my club career, joining Rangers would be my biggest step."
Meanwhile, fellow Rangers target Mervan Celik will give manager Ally McCoist an answer before the end of this week.
The 21-year-old is available on a free after his contract at Gothenburg club GAIS expired.
Celik has also been linked with Fulham and Middlesbrough and agent Hasan Cetinkaya insists the Sweden under-21 will make his decision soon.
He told the Daily Record: "We are aware there are deadlines being put in place by some of the interested clubs.
"Mervan is a calm guy and won't be rushed because this move is vital for his career.
"He has an offer from the English Premiership, from a top club in the Championship and is also the subject of interest in Germany.
"But money or the respective countries are not important. What is important is having the chance to play with the right team.
"Rangers are most definitely among the clubs who fit the bill.
"They are a famous club and always have the opportunity to play in Europe. McCoist is also a fantastic young coach who has played at a high level."
