Veteran Rangers defender Ugo Ehiogu expects his side to push hard for the SPL crown next season, having seen Celtic romp to a second successive title this term.
Ehiogu moved to Ibrox in January and believes that the return of manager Walter Smith will herald better times for the Gers.
He told the club's official website: "I certainly believe that we won't be as many points off Celtic as we were before the new manager came in.
"It won't happen again next season. You just have to look at the number of points we've picked up since the new regime came in here.
"There is a steely determination to the squad, there is greater backbone and there is a resilience.
"If we can add a bit more quality in attack and a bit more pace in every department, we will give Celtic a much better run for their money next season."
