The holders of the Scottish Cup are favourites to retain the trophy after booking their place in the final on May 30 with a 3-0 win over St Mirren at Hampden yesterday.[LNB]And, after notching up five consecutive wins in all competitions, Edu insists belief is growing that Rangers can overcome Celtic's one-point advantage at the summit of the Scottish Premier League.[LNB]Celtic travel to Ibrox in a fortnight for the final Old Firm derby of the season, with the clash set to be pivotal in deciding the destination of the championship.[LNB]And, having swapped the MLS for the SPL last summer, Edu believes two winner's medals would be the ideal way to mark his first season in Scotland.[LNB]"It would be massive for me," he said.[LNB]"I came here with the mindset that I wanted to win championships and win medals.[LNB]"In this first year, it would be great for me if that happened. I would be very happy and the team is still confident we can accomplish it.[LNB]"It's just a case of going out there and taking it game by game."[LNB]Andrius Velicka provided the best possible start against Saints when he grabbed the opener after just two minutes.[LNB]Rangers failed to capitalise fully on their advantage but second half goals from Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller sealed the victory.[LNB]Edu said: "St Mirren made it a difficult game for us but, at the same time, we managed to keep a clean sheet, which is important.[LNB]"For the most part, we did a good job to stop them being too much of a threat and we had our own chances.[LNB]"There were good points for us and 3-0 was a good result."[LNB]Much was made of the state of the Hampden pitch beforehand but Edu claimed there were no excuses for either team.[LNB]"It was difficult but it happens," he said.[LNB]"Some days you are going to have a good surface, other days it won't be so good.[LNB]"You just have to get on with it and try to adapt. At the end of the day, we did enough to get the result we wanted."[LNB][LNB]
