Defensive worries for Smith

Rangers boss Walter Smith could be without three of his regular back four for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Inverness at Ibrox. Stopper Madjid Bougherra is suspended while right-back Steven Whittaker is struggling with a badly bruised toe and left-back Sasa Papac has a groin complaint. "We have a wee struggle defensively," Smith said. "We have doubts over Steven Whittaker and Sasa Papac for the game and Madjid Bougherra is suspended. "Steven could not put his boot on this morning (Monday) without a lot of discomfort and Sasa Papac has a groin injury. "It's not a bad one but obviously we have to show a bit of care to make sure it doesn't get any worse. We also have Steven Naismith doubtful. "So we are a little bit short, especially defensively if the two boys are out. Andy Webster is available and Richard Foster is there and we have Lee McCulloch who can move to the back, so we have managed to cover it but it leaves us short defensively."
