Steven Davis insists Rangers cannot afford to let their standards drop as they aim to build on their impressive lead at the summit of the SPL.[LNB] The Scottish champions head into tomorrow's clash with St Mirren at Ibrox 10 points clear of Celtic and nine points ahead of second-placed Motherwell.[LNB]But the midfielder believes the recent Scottish Communities League Cup exit to Falkirk is a stark reminder of what can happen if Rangers fail to hit top form.[LNB]Davis said: "If you get caught up in the fact that you've got the lead and take your eye off the ball, that's when you get caught out.[LNB]"That's something the players who have been here over the course will be telling the new boys.[LNB]"We have to keep giving 100% in games. If we're not right, we will get caught out like what happened at Falkirk. We need to be on our game at all times."[LNB]Rangers are aiming for their 10th consecutive SPL win against Saints.[LNB]But Davis added: "We haven't thought about it at all. We just want to continue the form that we have shown.[LNB]"We've got a few tough games coming up this month, starting with St Mirren at home.[LNB]"Hopefully we can keep progressing and building as a team as we have been doing. Winning games breeds confidence and I think there is still a lot more to come from this team."[LNB]He added: "We are expecting a difficult game because St Mirren have played some good stuff this season.[LNB]"I'm sure they have done their work on us and they will be well up for the game, as is every team who comes to Ibrox.[LNB]"It's important that we get back to winning ways after the international break and get the three points on board."[LNB]Davis has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League player of the month for September, with boss Ally McCoist picking up the manager's award.[LNB]Davis said: "The team has had a really good month and it's nice to be recognised individually as well.[LNB]"The team has done well and it's been a really good effort from everybody."
