Rothen was a surprise transfer deadline day capture, signing on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, after the Scottish champions had initially claimed they would be unlikely to add to their squad.[LNB]The winger arrives with a decent pedigree, starring in Monaco's run to the 2004 Champions League final and featuring in France's European Championship squads in 2004 and 2008.[LNB]He trained with the full squad for the first time on Friday after those on international duty reported back to Murray Park - and Davis has been impressed already.[LNB]He said: "I saw him today in training and he looks like a good player.[LNB]"He's got a lot of experience, he is an international player and has played in the Champions League final.[LNB]"You don't do these things if you are not a top player so I think he will be a good addition to the team."[LNB]The Northern Ireland international, along with his Scottish club-mates, may have suffered disappointment in the quest to qualify for the World Cup but have plenty to look forward to at domestic level.[LNB]Rangers bid to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season when they travel to Motherwell in the SPL on Saturday, before beginning their Champions League campaign in Stuttgart next week.[LNB]The Scottish champions have overcome Falkirk, Hearts and Hamilton in the SPL so far and Davis believes Rangers keep on getting better with each game.[LNB]"We've got a lot of big games coming up," he said.[LNB]"We've started the season well and I think we've seen an improvement in each game we've played so far. We are just looking to continue that.[LNB]"Maybe the result against Falkirk flattered us a little bit. We scored four goals but maybe the performance wasn't there.[LNB]"Then we went to Tynecastle and went down to 10 men and that was a big result for us. We played really well in the second half and came away with a great result.[LNB]"Against Hamilton, we played some really good stuff and scored some goals and I think there has been a steady progression in our play."[LNB]Davis was in inspirational form against Hamilton but was disappointed not to find the back of the net himself as Rangers won 4-1 in their last outing.[LNB]"It's something I always try to do, add goals to my game," said the midfielder.[LNB]"I should have had a couple against Hamilton, I missed a couple of easy opportunities, which I was disappointed with.[LNB]"But hopefully if I can keep getting into those positions, the goals will come."[LNB][LNB] Motherwell v Rangers.
