Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green has lost a legal bid to make the club pay for his defence against criminal charges.
Green, along with others, faces trial over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the Ibrox club.
The 62-year-old took Rangers to court to pay for his legal costs, claiming his contract allowed him legal cover.
But following argument from lawyers for both parties heard earlier this month, a judge in the Court of Session has dismissed the action.
Green had argued there was a clause in the contract obliging Rangers to pay future legal costs after the date of agreement in April 2013 relating to his time in the role.
In a summary of the judgment, Lord Doherty concluded that "on a proper construction of the clause those criminal proceedings do not fall within its ambit".
