Celtic rubbish Boyd rumours

Celtic have categorically dismissed rumours suggesting that they could make a bid to sign Scotland striker Kris Boyd from deadly rivals Rangers this summer.

The 26-year-old is mulling over a number of offers this summer, having attracted plenty of interest by scoring 128 goals in 192 appearances for the Gers to date.

However, the Bhoys insist that they are not one of the clubs who are tracking Boyd.

A club spokesman stated: "Welcome to the silly season.

"We can categorically state that Kris Boyd has never been a target for Celtic and at no time have we ever attempted to sign him.

"We will not, repeat not, be making a bid for the player."
