Butcher gunning for Gers

Rangers are looking to stretch their unbeaten record this season to 15 matches when they host Inverness on Saturday but visiting boss Terry Butcher has warned his former club that Caley Thistle do not fear anyone.

Inverness were the last Scottish team to beat Rangers at Ibrox, more than 19 months ago shortly before their relegation from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

The Highland side have not lost an away game in the league for almost a year, and Butcher said: "A lot of players have got experience of going down there and winning. We were the last team to win down there in the league and it should bring back fantastic memories."

He added: "We have nothing to fear. Rangers are on a great run and everyone will be tipping a home win, but they tipped a home win the last time.

"I don't have to tell my players about Rangers - they are a formidable team to be up against. But we like to play against them and we like the occasion.

"The boys have worked very hard for this away record - to be unbeaten since last November is marvellous. We want that to continue."

The Irn-Bru First Division champions have been the surprise package in the SPL this season, winning away at Dundee United, Kilmarnock and St Mirren to take up an early top-six position.

Butcher added: "People say 'yes, but it's Ibrox'. But we're on a four-match unbeaten run, we have the third best defensive record in the SPL. We wanted to make an impact and we have.

"Caley Thistle have always bloodied the noses of the big boys in the SPL. They have landed a few knockout blows in the past.

"We are not overawed by anyone and we don't fear anyone."
