    Burley drops Rangers duo

    01 Apr 2009 - 08:45:14

Rangers duo Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor have been dropped for Scotland's World Cup qualifier against Iceland.

The two players were reportedly seen by guests at the team hotel after Saturday's 3-0 loss to Holland drinking.

"There's been a breach of discipline which has been dealt with within the squad," confirmed a team spokesman.

"The focus is victory this evening and we will go all out for three points."

Scotland boss George Burley had earlier hinted that changes were in the offing, saying: "There's a lot of big decisions to be made.

"I'll speak to my staff but it's one where I need to back my own judgment. I won't worry about other factors, simply what I feel will be the best team to win."

Burley is already without James McFadden, Shaun Maloney, Barry Robson, Paul Hartley, David Weir, Kirk Broadfoot, Graham Alexander, Kevin Thomson and Kris Commons who are all injured.
