Burke hoping for impact
19 Dec 2007 - 09:16:35
Forgotten man Chris Burke is hoping to earn more of a prominent role in the Rangers first team during the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old winger has made just one SPL appearances this season but believes the hectic festive period and current spate of injuries could lead to more first-team action.
Burke, who came through the club's academy system, penned a new two-year contract last January.
"We have a lot of games coming up at the end of December and in January and I am sure we will need to use our full squad to get the points we need," he said.
"There have been a few injuries and that happens in football, so I hope there's an opening for me.
"I have come back at a busy time and hopefully that works in my favour.
"The manager said at the start of the season he would need a big squad to push for the SPL title and that is still the case."
