Injured Rangers midfielder Thomas Buffel has vowed to win over manager Walter Smith and prove he deserves to stay at Ibrox.
The 26-year-old has made only one substitute appearance under Smith since he replaced Paul Le Guen in the Gers hot-seat in January.
The Belgium international featured in an SPL match against Dunfermline in late January before a knee injury forced him on to the sidelines for the rest of the campaign.
"I'm ahead of schedule. In fact, the surgeon said he wished everyone could recover as quickly as I have," he said.
"The first thing is to get fit, after that, where my career will go is not up to me.
"I feel I can still make an impact and maybe still have to make an impact.
"I feel I started my career well here and have had some good spells, but I want to be a regular again and think I can.
"From there, I can make myself a name at this club."
