Broadfoot eyeing new Gers contract

Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot is desperate to reach agreement with the Scottish Premier League champions over a new contract.[LNB] The full-back is one of six players whose deals with the debt-laden club expires this summer.[LNB]Talks between the 25-year-old Scotland international and the club had hit a brick wall but he hopes discussions between his agent and chief executive Martin Bain bear fruit.[LNB]He said in the Daily Express: "I have made it clear from day one that my preferred choice would be to stay at Rangers. It was a dream come true the day I signed for this club.[LNB]"I am a Rangers fan and it is a dream come true every time I pull on that light blue shirt.[LNB]"I loved every day of my last three years at Ibrox and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I can be here for a few more years to come.[LNB]"The club are still talking to my agent and we will wait and see what comes out of it.[LNB]"We haven't been able to agree anything as yet but we will see what happens over the next week or so.[LNB]"Hopefully we can get something agreed. I have other options but I have told my agent that my number one priority is Rangers and if I can't agree a new deal then I will look at what else is on the table."
