Broadfoot advises Gers duo to stay

The youngsters - both 18 years old - rejected new contract offers when Rangers attempted to secure them on longer-term deals after breaking into the first team.[LNB]The decision to keep their options open prompted boss Walter Smith to question whether they are putting the prospect of a lucrative move to England before their careers.[LNB]That statement was backed by Broadfoot, who believes both players could do worse than continue their development at Ibrox.[LNB]He said: "It's up to them what they do in their careers. They are quality players and they will have a big future in the game.[LNB]"But I don't see any harm in them staying here a bit longer but it's up to them what they want to do.[LNB]"If they are going to be here and playing every week, to be honest, there is no bigger stage than playing for Rangers.[LNB]"It's their careers and only they can make that decision. I'm sure they will both go on to big things but, for now, I don't see why they should leave a club like Rangers."[LNB]Broadfoot - who is out of contract in the summer - has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal of his own, with Sheffield Wednesday reportedly among his admirers.[LNB]"We are still in talks," said the full-back.[LNB]"I would love to stay here but I've got to look after my future and hopefully I can.[LNB]"I want to stay at Rangers, there is not really a bigger club than this in my eyes.[LNB]"But I have to look after my own career. The offer I've got at the moment is one I'm thinking over."[LNB]For now, Broadfoot will turn his focus to Tuesday's Active Nation Scottish Cup replay against Hamilton - the third meeting between the two clubs in 10 days.[LNB]"I don't know if we are bored of them or if they are bored with us," he said.[LNB]"But we sure know how each other plays. We've just got to be professional and go out and do the job that's needed.[LNB]"They are a good side and they have good players. On their day, they can hurt anyone at home.[LNB]"This one is at Ibrox and we are looking to be a bit different, we are at home and we're going out to win the game.[LNB]"It's a bigger pitch and, without being disrespectful, I think it's a better pitch.[LNB]"At home, we are more attacking and other teams are a little bit more cautious."[LNB][LNB] Rangers v Hamilton.
