Boyd open to Scotland recall

Rangers striker Kris Boyd has made it known that he would welcome the chance to return to the Scotland national team set-up.

The 26-year-old has not featured for his country since September 2008, but feels that the time is right to put his name forward for international selection once again.

He told his club's official website: "I have stated that I want to be back in and involved again.

"It's up to the manager if he wants to pick me, but I am ready and want to play for my country again.

"I feel as though the time is right for me, I have improved as a player and hopefully I can show that at international level.

"Hopefully now I have got myself back established in the Rangers team and I can go forward and help Scotland in the future."
