    Boyd nets as Gers draw

    24 Oct 2009 - 17:16:56

Rangers' stuttering season continued when they could only draw 1-1 with Hibernian at Ibrox even after Kris Boyd had volleyed them into an eighth-minute lead.

Walter Smith's side are low on confidence following their humiliating midweek Champions League capitulation to Unirea though, and they allowed former Arsenal and Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes to snatch an equaliser for John Hughes' side in the 63rd minute.

Dundee United moved up to fourth in the table by beating Aberdeen 2-0 at Pittodrie. The Terrors took the lead in the 31st minute when Damian Casalinuovo forced the ball home and Morgaro Gomis doubled the Terrors' lead five minutes later.

Hearts' season shows no sign of igniting after they were held to a goalless draw by rock-bottom Falkirk at Tynecastle while the mid-table clash between St Mirren and Motherwell ended 3-3.

Hugh Murray found the net for the Buddies three minutes before half-time but the Steelmen equalised early in the second half when Ross Forbes grabbed his seventh goal of the campaign from the penalty spot.

Andy Dorman restored the Buddies' lead in the 59th minute, and when Murray netted 13 minutes later, he appeared to have made the points safe.

However, two late goals by Lukas Jutkiewicz rescued a point for Jim Gannon's team.

Kevin Kyle grabbed a brace as Kilmarnock gained a valuable 2-0 victory at Rugby Park against St Johnstone to move up to eighth in the table.
