Boyd fires Gers warning

Rangers striker Kris Boyd has admitted that his side were well below-par in their 1-1 weekend draw at home to Motherwell.

The 23-year-old netted his eighth Gers goal of the campaign against the Steelmen, but accepted that both he and his team must do better in the coming weeks.

He told the Evening Times: "To be perfectly honest, we were rubbish against Motherwell at the weekend. I can understand why the fans were so angry.

"The supporters pay good money to come along and watch us play well and win matches and what they witnessed was way below Rangers class."

Of his own performance, Boyd said: "My movement in the box hasn't been good enough.

"There have been chances that have come into the area and I haven't taken them. I am still getting the service.

"It is up to me to bust a gut to get in front of my man, into the right positions to put the ball into the net and try to help turn things around."
