Boyd playing Ibrox waiting game

Instead, the striker intends to do his talking on the pitch by emulating last season's efforts and netting more than 30 goals.[LNB]Despite a disappointing lack of pre-season action, the striker is hoping to be back in the manager's plans and opening his goalscoring account for the new season in Saturday's Scottish Premier League opener against Falkirk.[LNB]Boyd said: "I've got a year left, I've not spoken to anyone. It's not down to me.[LNB]"I just want to get myself back in the team. Hopefully I'll start on Saturday and get up and running scoring goals and whatever happens happens.[LNB]"There is no better place than playing in front of 50,000 at Ibrox every week so I'll just get my head down and try to score goals."[LNB]Boyd looked set for the Ibrox exit in January when Rangers accepted a bid from Birmingham but the move collapsed over personal terms and he remained to play a major role in claiming a domestic double.[LNB]"It was a bit of an up and down period for me in January but I got through it and finished the season well," he said.[LNB]"I'm looking forward to the start of the new season on Saturday and I'm looking forward to the challenge this year."[LNB]While Rangers have had a number of pre-season friendlies to prepare them for the defence of their title, Celtic already have competitive action under their belts after disposing of Dinamo Moscow in Champions League qualifying.[LNB]However, Boyd has no fears about the champions being in worse shape than their Old Firm rivals for the new campaign as a result.[LNB]He said: "I think Celtic would rather be in the Champions League group stages; they would rather be in our position.[LNB]"It's not going to make a difference because we don't play them for another couple of months.[LNB]"We look forward to playing Falkirk on Saturday. They have had a European game as well but it makes no difference.[LNB]"We have played tough friendlies and have coped well so we look forward to Saturday."[LNB]Rangers will be without Nacho Novo, who was yesterday ruled out for the rest of August - and possibly longer - after it was confirmed he had dislocated his left shoulder.[LNB]The Spanish forward underwent scans on Wednesday following a training accident last Friday and the initial prognosis was proven correct.[LNB]Novo will see a specialist next week in a bid to find a course of treatment that will enable him to return to action as soon as possible but he is definitely out until at least next month.[LNB]Falkirk, meanwhile, could have up to seven new players on show when they run out at Ibrox on Saturday.[LNB]New boss Eddie May's recruitment drive has been unmatched in the SPL this summer.[LNB]That is in stark contrast to Falkirk's hosts, who have yet to bring in any new faces.[LNB][LNB] Rangers v Falkirk To Score a Brace: Boyd, K. 3/1
