He said: "I'm like everybody else in the dressing room - I want to play, I want to be part of the big European nights. I'm no different from anybody else.
"Being a player at this club, you want to play on those big nights. But I've tasted the other side of it as well and I'm used to it. So I will be ready for Aberdeen next week if I don't play."
Boyd set the ball rolling on a 3-0 win over Kilmarnock with his 14th goal in as many games against his former club, before strikes from Kenny Miller and Steven Whittaker sealed the victory.
He added: "For me, the most important thing was getting on the park and scoring in this game.
"If I don't play on Tuesday, I will look towards next week. If I do start, I will give it my best. I will wait and see what the gaffer does on Tuesday.
"It would be a big step for me to play on Tuesday but, if I don't, I know I can look forward to Saturday and hopefully have a chance to play at Aberdeen."
The win over Kilmarnock allowed Rangers to move into pole position in the SPL, ahead of Celtic's game at Dundee United today.
And, as the Scottish champions prepare for another big Champions League night at Ibrox, Boyd believes they have improved dramatically from their horror show against Unirea Urziceni at the same venue last month.
He said: "We started the game against Kilmarnock brightly and I thought we could have scored more.
"But it's three points at the end of the day and that's what we set out to get. We are happy - it sets us up nicely for Tuesday night.
"I think we have picked up form over the last month or so, since the Unirea game at home.
"Everybody knows we started the season slackly and weren't firing all cylinders but we have started to turn a corner over the last month."
Kilmarnock were trailing by all three goals within 35 minutes and boss Jim Jefferies said: "I don't think we have had as much possession at Ibrox, or worked the goalkeeper as much, but we can't defend the defence in the first half.
"We could have lost one or two more."
