Bougherra rules out Ibrox departure
The 26-year-old Algerian helped Walter Smith's men to a 1-0 victory in the Old Firm derby on Saturday which put them in the driving seat to win the SPL title.
Bougherra had suggested he might leave the Gers should they not claim the crown, but is now adamant he wants to stay at the club.
Former Charlton star Bougherra told the Scottish Sun: "It's too early for me to think about leaving because I need stability. In the past, I have been moving every year. I'm comfortable at Rangers and I want to stay.
"After the Scottish Cup semi-final, I spoke with the radio people but didn't properly translate what I was thinking.
"I was speaking about the mentality, nothing else.
"I have learned so much here about what it takes to win. I know if I stay at Rangers I can become a better player.
"Every day in training, I get so much from Coisty (Ally McCoist), Kenny (McDowall) and the gaffer.
"Before, I didn't really know what it was like to be at a big club, didn't know the mental strength needed. Now, every game is a must-win and you must concentrate completely for 90 minutes. That's very different from my past career."
Bougherra has also urged Weir to extend his stay at Rangers.
"Of course I hope David stays. I have told him I want him to stay for one more year because he can still play," he added.
"He is a good player with so much experience. His positioning is very good and everyone on the staff wants him to stay.
"I have a seriously big respect for him. I am 26 and find it tough at times. To see him at 39, with the way he trains and plays, shows what a great professional he is."
