The Glasgow giants owe in the region of £30million and with the club's bankers eager to offload top names in an effort to recoup such loses, Bougherra has been linked with the exit door.

Since moving to Scotland from Charlton in 2008 the Algeria international has caught the eye with a series of commanding performances at the heart of Rangers' backline.

The 27-year-old is currently sidelined with knee ligament damage and speaking from France, where he is receiving specialist treatment, Bougherra warned he will not be ushered out of the club prematurely.

Eager to stay in Scotland until the end of the season at the very least, the talented centre-half is adamant he will not leave in January.

"I have not changed my intentions from last season. I will definitely stay in Glasgow and finish the season at the club," he told the Daily Record.

"I love life at Rangers and I'm sure they will find an investor and things will work out.

"I feel great in Glasgow and I need stability because that is one of the keys to success and progress, especially on the eve of the African Nations Cup and a World Cup."
